Pam and I moved to Maine from Massachusetts in 1977 with our four children in order for me to attend Bangor Theological Seminary and the University of Maine in Orono in preparation for parish ministry in the United Methodist Church. We planned to return to Massachusetts to serve in our home state, but quickly fell in love with Maine and with Maine folk. The Maine Conference would ultimately be merged with other conferences, including our former conference, but I have been blessed by being able to serve churches in Maine for thirty-three years, and counting.

My first appointment was to Corinna and Hartland from 1979 to 1985, followed by Winthrop U.M.C. for three years; Pleasant St. U.M.C. in Waterville for twelve years; Orono U.M.C. for five years; Trinity U.M.C. in Farmington for six years; and one year at Dixmont U.M.C. and the Troy Union Church.

Pam and I have four grown children:

Rick, a United Methodist Clergy serving as our conference's Director of Congregational Development. Rick and his wife, Lori, live in Salem, New Hampshire. Rick was a teacher at Nokomis Regional High School prior to attending seminary in North Carolina. Rick's two children attend college in North Carolina.

Debbi, a Dental Hygienist, and graduate of Nokomis in 1984, and her husband, Jay, live in Palmer, Alaska, with their two daughters.

Todd, who attended Nokomis for two years, is a Middle School teacher in Old Town, ME, and lives in Old Town with his wife Deanna and their daughter Abigail.

Matthew, who attended Nokomis for one year, is a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army, and is currently in Afghanistan (Prayers, please!). Matthew is married to Catherine, who awaits his return in the spring of 2013, with their three children, and they live on Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

So much more could be said, but this covers it for now. We'll update in greater detail beginning next month. Pam and I are thrilled to be reunited with the saints at Corinna U.M.C.
